whore or hero?
Its a job and someone has always done it! Prostitution remains one of the most stigmatized professions – despite its continuing ability to drum up custom. Prostitution originated as a respectable and spiritual transaction between priestesses and priests in Babylonian temples. It was designed to bring them closer to God with no money changing hands. In Europe in the Middle Ages, prostitution – although proscribed by the Church, was regarded as preferable to rape, sodomy and masturbation. In the early part of the 20th Century, prostitution became illegal in America, but as with in many other countries it has continued regardless. A survey of 3,000 men in Britain in 2008 revealed that 7% – the equivalent of 1.5 million men nationwide – visit prostitutes four times a year and pay about £75 a time. A third are constantly worried their secret will be discovered, while 90% love their partners, and of these, 80% say their sex life is dull and the reason they use hookers in the first place.
Sex for money usually costs a lot less than sex for free! Go figure the math. ![]()
