Up until the 17th century it was commonly believed that God or some big bang (excuse the pun) created mankind. Charles Darwin looked at the peacock and wondered why it would display its plumage, even though it could attract predators without a worthwhile reason. His theories of evolution in his book – The origin of species (1859) introduced the ideas of sexual and natural selection. Apparently humans focus on memes, forms of imitation and sex, power and food are the most popular ummm food for thought and on that note its time for lunch. Today’s 3 course special : sex – followed by tuna salad – washed down with a powerful fruit punch.
